“Many years ago I contacted several violin teachers to find the best fit for my daughter.  I knew right away that Benita was the one for us.  She was open to teaching violin to my 6 year old and seemed to really enjoy working with the very young students. Now I have teenagers and she’s still a perfect fit for us.  She pushes when necessary and gets them over difficult challenges but also knows when to step back and focus on the fun of music.  Benita is not only a very talented violin teacher, establishing strong fundamentals, but she also really understands kids and their various learning styles.  She is top notch! “

“I highly recommend Benita’s Little Sparrow Music classes for young children. My granddaughter took Little Sparrow classes for two years, since then she played guitar for two years, violin for one year and is now playing the saxophone; she easily transitioned from one instrument to another.

My grandson also took two years of the Little Sparrow classes and transitioned easily to private piano lessons. Benita’s classes gave them a firm foundation in playing the piano, reading and listening to music and even improved their ability to stay in tune when singing. The oldest now enjoys listening to the MN Orchestra live.

The greatest joy the lessons have brought me and the highlight the past Christmas was when my grandchildren planned out all alone a mini concert: 10 year old on saxophone, 7 year old on piano and two year old shaking bells!

Had they not had the Little Sparrow classes they never would have performed such a delightful concert for parents and grandparents !”
